This talk will explore the issues faced by enterprises in managing the complexity of information technology as well as progress in emerging autonomic technologies to address them. The discussion will consider the balance between technology automation and IT processes and human interactions with the management of technology. Recent trends in system management architecture, tools, and standards will be described and promising areas of research highlighted.
